November Free Sheet Music: Over The River and Through The Woods

When the calendar flips to November we Americans think "Thanksgiving!" To celebrate our beloved holiday, I am posting the classic Thanksgiving song we all know and love, Over The River and Through The Woods.

This is an easy arrangement for piano, vocals and guitar, and your friends who play violin, bass or flute can also look over your shoulder and jam with you at your Thanksgiving Day celebration! Kids love this song, so you might like to teach your children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews the lyrics, to sing along.

This sheet music will only be available through October 2025, so print today!

I hope you had a happy Halloween! And are not feeling too stressed about the upcoming election (in the U.S.). As always, playing music can help you feel better, and calmer. What are you playing right now? I love to hear about your songs and pieces, your struggles and triumphs.

I have started playing a little instrument called a Melodica. It's a tiny keyboard that you blow into, and it sounds kind of like a soprano sax. I got interested in it when I saw Jon Batiste playing it. He plays it through a mouthpiece but I play it through a tube, which I like because I can see the keys as I'm playing them. I've never played a wind instrument before so it has been fun to experiment with breath control.

Next month I will be posting some free holiday sheet music for you, so be sure to subscribe it you want my post delivered to your email.

Stay well and enjoy your playing! 🎹 With love and Music, Gaili

I am currently playing Meows in the Night, a fun piece that reminds me of a musical cat walking across piano keys. Thank you for your holiday pieces! I always look forward to learning them. I just put away the Halloween pieces and was pleased that this year I played Chopin's Prelude No. 20 much better than last year. Progress may be slow but at least it happens. 😊
